On a scale from 1 to 5 stars, I have to give Glen Rodrigue and ‘All Decked Out’ 6 stars! When I first spoke with Glen he was very enthusiastic and as we talked, he assured me that whatever level we wanted to take our deck to, whether it was a rehab or a complete rebuild, he would deliver something that we would absolutely love. He was so enthusiastic that I almost thought he was simply over-promising what he could deliver. In any case, I liked his enthusiasm and decided to take him at his word, hoping that he would deliver on his promises. I can’t possibly say it strong enough; not only did he deliver on what he said he could do – HE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND! We ended up demolishing the old second level deck, building a new one twice the size with TimberTech decking, Keylink railings, and horizontal steel cables. At the same time we moved the staircase down to the first level to a different location. Glen also installed a Rain Escape system for water drainage and an underdeck ceiling with lighting to create an outdoor living space. Glen put together a contract that clearly spelled out the basic cost and the cost for options like underdeck ceiling, underdeck lighting, stair lighting, etc. When all was said and done, the cost was exactly what the original contract said; no surprises. Right from the start I could tell that his crew, under Mike the foreman, cared about what they were doing. Whether it was the care they took while demolishing the old deck while being respectful of our property, the fact that the area was kept neat and organized, or the fact that the crew was obviously not rushing through the job but taking their time at each stage, HIS CREW CARES! When TimberTech delivered boards that had scuffs or scratches in them, the crew sent them back for new ones. The foreman, Mike, is very meticulous and has been with Glen for something like 20 years. As a matter of fact, many of the guys I spoke with have been with Glen a long time which speaks volumes. Through the entire process, Glen kept us well informed as to what would be happening at each step and asked us if everything was meeting our expectations. There were some items that we weren’t sure about (like railing height options), so we ran them by Glen. He gave us his honest opinion based on his years of experience, we went with his gut feeling, and he was spot on each time. Glen recommended an electrical company that he works with often and, without hesitation, we used them. The story with them was the same; they gave us a good price, communicated well, and did fantastic work (another group of people who take pride in what they do). We thought we were going to wait to do the stone patio under the deck as a separate project later in the season but then decided to get it all done right away. Again, we asked Glen for a recommendation as we had full faith in his opinion. He recommended a stone guy (Bennie) and it was the same story. He gave us a great price, fit us into his schedule, and did fantastic work. Our new deck and underdeck living space is absolutely fantastic and the process went very smoothly. One last, but very important, note. Aside from doing fantastic work, Glen is a really nice person who cares about his work, his customer, and his crew. He understands that in the end it’s really all about people and relationships and you just can’t put a price on that! I highly highly recommend All Decked Out!
